MPIL Solar Solutions (MSS), a division of MPIL Steel Structures Ltd, focuses on providing clients a comprehensive array of solar power generation products and services. MSS primarily focuses on solar mounting structures, solar farm erection services, and rooftop industrial solar solutions.
MSS fabricates solar mounting structures for large-scale solar farms. With over 60 MW/month solar mounting structure fabrication capabilities, MSS is ideally suited to supply to solar farms of all sizes. In addition to custom fabrication MSS also offers its self-designed mounting structures that are pre-certified by IIT Mumbai for their structural stability and strength. All structures are hot-dip galvanized to at least 570 GSM (80 microns zinc to provide longer term corrosion resistance.
MSS has already supplied mounting structures to six different solar farms ranging in size from 2 MW to 20 MW.
MSS solar farm erection services cover the whole range of construction from site planning, component procurement, and installation of solar farm components such as modules, mounting structures, junction boxes, combiner boxes and central inverters.
MSS leverages the scale and experience of MPIL in project management, green field site setup and erection of large Pre Engineered Building (PEB).
MSS combines MPIL’s expertise in designing, fabricating, and commissioning PEBs with Steinbeis Institute (Germany) trained photovoltaic system designers to bring a comprehensive solar captive power solution to large industrial factories and warehouses. MSS has pioneered the SMART (Solar Mounted Advance Rooftop Technology) building concept that enables any PEB structure to become solar power enabled.
In order to demonstrate the concept, MSS has installed a 21KW rated solar captive power plant on its factory rooftop in Tarapur, Maharashtra. MSS now offers the learning and experience from this installation to provide a seamless solar power generation experience to its customers.
Mr. Ahmed’s innovative research contributions are rapidly transforming renewable sources of energy into a financially viable answer to India’s power requirement. Mr. Ahmed holds Bachelors in Technology degree from IIT (Mumbai) and a Masters in Science from Alfred University (USA).
Mr.Alok Gupta, Executive Director at MPIL Steel Structures Ltd. is an alumnus of the Columbia Law School (New York), is responsible for production planning and controls at MPIL. In addition to over 10 years of varied work experience in India and abroad. His lateral thinking and decision making skills have contributed to MPIL’s multifold growth in the last few years.
Anupam Kunwar is the Vice President at MSS has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from IIT Chennai (1998), and a Masters in Computer Sciences and Electronics Engineering from University of Texas, Austin (2000). He is an impeccable judge and knowledge base of existing PV technology and applies "mission critical" criteria to ensure high reliability of solar power output in all environmental conditions. He is also a Steinbeis Institute (Germany) certified photovoltaic systems designer.

Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, President of MPIL Solar Solutions (MSS), brings over fifteen years of experience in glasswork, solar photovoltaic technology and metallurgy to MSS. Mr. Ahmed’s has won several international accolades for his novel design of a third generation photovoltaic technology called Dye Solar Cells.
